Devlog 06: The first piece you can actually hold

Most of Astral Command still lives on screens and in documents. One part of it doesn’t anymore.

The house dice are made. Custom liquid-core D20s, one in each house’s colour, produced, in hand, and real. They’re the first finished physical component of the game. There’s something clarifying about holding a piece of a thing you’ve mostly been writing and designing. It stops being a plan and becomes an object.

The D20 isn’t decoration in Astral Command, either. It’s the engine of every turn and every fight, the roll that decides how much of a card’s power you actually unlock that turn. So it’s fitting that it’s the first thing to cross over into the real world.

You can grab one in your house’s colour in the shop now, if you want a piece of it early. The rest of the game is on its way to joining it.
