Devlog 08: A universe with more than a thousand pieces
Here’s the part of Astral Command that’s been eating most of the hours lately: the world itself.
We’ve been building an internal encyclopedia, the reference every card, rule, and story will draw from, and it just passed a thousand entries. More than nine hundred named characters. All sixty worlds of the Solace system. The six houses and the artifacts they were founded on. Family lines, eras, and a main story timeline that’s now locked in place.
That last one matters most. With the timeline settled, everything else has a spine to hang on, we know when things happened, who was there, and why it set the houses on the paths they walk. The focus now is depth: filling the worlds and the people out until they feel lived-in rather than listed.
And it feeds straight back into the game. The card templates are built and waiting on names, real commanders, real worlds, real Edicts carved into real planets. The encyclopedia is what fills them. The richer the world gets, the better the cards that come out of it.
There’s a lot of universe here, and part of it is already open on the wiki for you to explore. More goes up as it’s ready.
