Devlog 09: The temple of the Veil
There’s a room on Velhuneth that the whole story keeps coming back to.
The Veil has been on the wiki since it opened: the invisible threshold on the Nox homeworld, the first crossing, the seven words that came back with it. What was missing was the place itself. The building around it. This week it went up.
It was built by the civilisation that came before, around two hundred thousand years ago, and it outlasted the lava fields that scoured the rest of the planet. You come in through a vault door built to keep the cold out, then through a run of sealed rooms, then past carved stone doors written in symbols nobody alive can read. Then the hall. Long, high, warm gold stone, lit from nowhere. No lamps. No flames.
Silence stands in the middle of the floor, the Nox blade nobody can quite see, set on a pedestal in line with the threshold. At the far end, an arch. Inside the arch, nothing at all. That’s where the Veil is.
Silence has a new home on the wiki too. It was pulled from the wreck of an ancient ship frozen into Velhuneth’s ice, and it stands in that temple now under Gatekeeper guard.
Go stand in the hall for a minute. Read The Veil and Silence on the wiki.
