Summary

Humanity sent six ships across 120 years of dark toward Tau Ceti, and three generations were born and died in transit before the fleet decelerated into the system. Someone among the arriving colonists named it Solace. Within a year they had found six geometric anomalies on six different worlds, and each ship was dispatched to investigate one.

What happens

Discovery came slowly and unevenly across forty years, and the findings were shared openly the whole way through. By the end of the period every house could build hardened ships, run entanglement comms, draw power from matter, edit genomes, and ride the unreliable miracle of the Drive. It was a universal baseline, with one exception: silence could not be reproduced.
