Korielle
"The seed is small, and the shade it will one day throw must fall on faces we will never live to know."
House: Astraea
Terrain: Ignis (+2 power)
Name: recovered from the ancient record through translation
Korielle is a territory world of House Astraea, a volcanic planet whose eruptions lay down soil so rich that green returns to the lava fields within a generation of every burn.
Naming voice
Korielle sits oddly among the Astraea names, opening on a harder sound than the house usually favours before easing into the long vowels of the register, and the translators read the shape of it as deliberate: a fire-world's name, rough at the start and green at the finish.
The inscription
One of the 54 edicts: the inscription this world carries, protected under the Stratagem Accord.
Theme: Patience / legacy.
Discovery. On one of the old lava plains the survey teams found a perfect ring of forest, bounded in basalt, growing in volcanic soil the previous civilisation had prepared by hand. The planting had renewed itself from its own seed across two hundred thousand years. Generations of trees rose and fell inside the ring while the species that set them there vanished from the system. At the centre stands a low stone marker carrying the edict, and the roots of the living forest have grown out to wrap halfway around it.
