Issoran is a frozen world in the territory of House Myndari, and somewhere under its polar ice it kept one of the edicts intact for two hundred thousand years.
Naming voice
Issoran is a quiet name even by Myndari standards, two soft hisses balanced around a long middle vowel. It suits a world where the loudest sound for most of its history has been wind moving over ice. The old Myndari names were made to flow, and this one barely disturbs the air on its way out.

Discovery. Deep-scan surveys of the southern ice cap returned a regular shape where no regular shape should have been. The teams melted a shaft down to it and cut through the casing of a sealed observation core, buried under the accumulation of ages. Inside, standing upright in a chamber the ice had never breached, was a stele of black alloy with the edict engraved across its face. The cold had preserved it perfectly. The polished face threw the worklights back like a mirror, the engraved strokes dark and exact against the shine. No one had read them since the civilisation that wrote them disappeared.
