Lyssara

"What goes unsaid in a room is still written upon it, for the one who has learned to read the walls as closely as the words."

House: Myndari
Terrain: Verdant (+2 power)
Name: recovered from the ancient record through translation

Lyssara is a forest world in Myndari territory, green from pole to pole, and somewhere under that canopy it holds one of the edicts.

Naming voice

Lyssara opens on a hiss and closes on a breath, and the whole name moves in one motion, the way the old Myndari liked their words to move. It is a name that could be whispered in a still room without breaking the quiet, which is fitting for the world it belongs to.

The inscription

One of the 54 edicts: the inscription this world carries, protected under the Stratagem Accord.

Theme: Observation / reading the unseen.
Discovery. The chamber that holds the edict has been sealed since the day its builders finished it. The survey crews found it deep in old-growth forest, a circular stone structure the trees had long since swallowed. The only way in was the way the forest itself had made, through gaps where roots had worked the stonework apart over thousands of years. The crews climbed down through those openings with handlamps, and the light found metal on every side. The edict circled the whole interior in inlay, and in the sealed air it had never tarnished. Where the handlamps crossed it, the lettering came back bright out of the dark, line after line around the curve of the wall. The room held nothing else. No furnishing, no floor wear, no door: the builders had written the full text and walled their own way in behind them. Its first readers ever were the survey crews, and they entered by the one route the builders never cut.
