What it is
A bio-engineering facility buried deep in Aelundara's old growth. The colonists found it intact, with damage only at the perimeter, where it had been defended. Whatever the defenders were holding, they held it long enough for the systems inside to seal before they fell.
The site
The Archive holds a genome record of every creature in the system, every species and every variant across all sixty worlds. The catalogue is so vast that its only real fault is the slow degradation of time. The names survive mostly intact, written in the ancient language Astraea is still translating, and the visual records survive as well. The descriptions are gone. The locational data is corrupted past recovery.
