Vesselle
"The map ends where you stop looking. Know the edge of your own knowing, and you command everything inside it."
House: Myndari
Terrain: Duneclad (+1 power)
Name: recovered from the ancient record through translation
Vesselle is a desert world held by House Myndari, a duneclad territory where the sand buried the edict it carries and kept it whole.
Naming voice
Vesselle is nearly all soft sound, the doubled hiss at its centre sliding into a falling close, and it is a strange grace to hear on a world of dry wind and bare rock. The old Myndari named in flowing water even where there was none.
The inscription
One of the 54 edicts: the inscription this world carries, protected under the Stratagem Accord.
Theme: Knowledge / its limits.
Discovery. Ground-penetrating survey found the vault under the dunes, an intact alloy structure buried beneath metres of sand. The sand had been moving over it for the full two hundred thousand years since its builders sealed it. The excavation took weeks, the desert pouring back into the pit nearly as fast as the teams could clear it. What finally came out of the ground was a sealed survey-vault of the ancient Myndari pattern, its outer casing scoured and its interior untouched. The edict was etched across the inner door, the last barrier before whatever the vault was built to keep. The words had waited there in total darkness through the whole age of the sand.
