Krellith
"Be swift as the wind and steady as the rock it carves, for in the cold only the ones who never stop will live to be warm again."
House: Kael
Terrain: Glacian (+1 power)
Name: recovered from the ancient record through translation
Krellith is a frozen world in Kael territory, glacian from pole to pole. Locked in its ice, it kept one of the edicts through the whole span between the ancient civilisation's end and the surveys that found it.
Naming voice
Krellith starts rough and finishes clean, a clustered opening cut off by a single hard sound, the way the ancient Kael liked their names to break. On a world this cold the name fits the place, short enough to say through a sealed faceplate and be understood.
The inscription
One of the 54 edicts: the inscription this world carries, protected under the Stratagem Accord.
Theme: Speed / survival.
Discovery. The relay turned up on a magnetometer sweep of the polar cap, a hard metallic return under deep ice. The crews dug down to a Drive-test relay of the ancient Kael network, a machine built for velocities the ice had held motionless for two hundred thousand years. They cut the alloy core free. It came out of the blue ice unmarked, the edict still sharp on the metal where it had been engraved. The same cold that would kill anyone who stopped moving on the surface had preserved the words about never stopping. The crews read them on the ice plain, their breath freezing in the air.
