Skarrith

"The drop comes whether you choose it or not, so choose it first. Commit to the fall before it takes you, and the terms of the landing are yours."

House: Kael
Terrain: Ignis (+2 power)
Name: recovered from the ancient record through translation

Skarrith is a volcanic territory of House Kael, an ignis world of ash plains and active ranges. It holds one of the edicts in the strangest placement found anywhere in the system.

Naming voice

Skarrith hisses open and stops dead, two beats with nothing wasted between them. The old Kael shape is all through it, a name that starts to roll and is not allowed to finish. The ancient Kael clipped their words the way they flew, committed and done.

The inscription

One of the 54 edicts: the inscription this world carries, protected under the Stratagem Accord.

Theme: Fate / acceptance through motion.
Discovery. A Drive-jump anchor of dense alloy stands alone on one of the ash plains, a monolith with nothing else built near it for kilometres. The first surveys catalogued it and moved on. Every visible face of the stone was blank. The edict was found years later, when a structural scan picked up engraving where no engraving made sense. The words are cut into the anchor's underside, facing straight down at the ground. The only thing that could ever have read them in place was a craft passing through the jump corridor that once ran beneath the stone. The excavation teams dug an angled trench under the monolith and lay on their backs in the ash, reading a sentence written for someone falling past it at terrible speed.
