In the genetic structure
One of three families within Astraea. The eighteen-family system is the Archive's optimisation of the founding 60,000 colonist population. Three genetically distinct groupings per house, 18 total across the system. Cross-house pairings recommended by the Archive keep the broader gene pool varied across generations.
Character of the line
Starwright was Astraea's maker line, the family whose name reached toward the stars and toward what stars enable, and whose surname survived the rebuild from prior canon. Where Edenroth tended and Novara discovered, Starwright built, turning the house's long patience into things that would still be working long after the generation that made them had gone.
The temperament was the most constructive expression of Astraea's creed. A Starwright treated the arc across generations as a workshop rather than a waiting room, and measured a life's work by what it left standing for the descendants who would never meet its maker. Of the three lines it carried the house motto, Still rising, most literally, less as patience endured than as something deliberately raised, cycle by cycle, toward a place among the stars.
