Six anomalies discovered

What happens

Within a year of arrival the colonists found six geometric anomalies, one on each of six different worlds, their forms too regular and too deliberate to be anything but artificial, and far beyond any probability of natural occurrence. The discovery was published openly to all six ships at once. Everyone understood, from the same moment, what it meant: they were not the first to reach this system, and they were not alone in what they had inherited.

Consequence

Each ship was dispatched to investigate a single anomaly on a single world, and the six agreed to do it in the open: full transparency, every finding shared. It was a promise made in good faith by people who still thought of themselves as one expedition, and it would hold for as long as the discoveries stayed small.
