One of three families within Myndari. The eighteen-family system is the Archive's optimisation of the founding 60,000 colonist population. Three genetically distinct groupings per house, 18 total across the system. Cross-house pairings recommended by the Archive keep the broader gene pool varied across generations.
Character of the line
Sylvest was Myndari's line of channels, the family whose name held a forest of signals running quiet beneath the surface. It sat closest to the working architecture of Sylissar, the secure communications and navigation that no rival could intercept or forge, and the family's instinct ran toward the standing network rather than any single message crossing it.
The temperament was patient and infrastructural. A Sylvest thought in terms of what the whole web could carry and how to keep it private, and treated the system's reach across the entire star system as a thing to be tended rather than displayed. Where Verren listened and Quendar relayed, Sylvest built and maintained the medium they both depended on, calm on the surface in the Myndari way and aware all the way down.
