Sennoth is a volcanic world held by House Myndari, an ignis territory, and on one of its thermal fields it carries an edict written like no other in the system.
Naming voice
Sennoth is unusual among the old Myndari names for ending on a closed sound, but the rest of it flows true to form, the doubled soft consonant in the middle carrying the word along before it settles. Even on a world of fire, the Myndari named in water.

Discovery. The first crews to walk the site did not know they had found anything. Around an active thermal vent stood a wide ring of obsidian shards, each one carved with a short phrase in the ancient script. Read from the ground, the phrases made no sense in any order the surveyors tried. It was the orbital imaging team that solved it. Seen from above, the ring resolved into a single continuous text, the shards falling into sequence only when the whole circle could be taken in at once. The edict read clean from that height, the vent steaming at its centre, the one vantage the ancient Myndari had chosen for it two hundred thousand years before anyone rose high enough to look.
