Korren is a territory world of House Nox, a planet of dunes and dry wind where the sand covers and uncovers and covers again.
Naming voice
Korren is clipped even by the standard of the Nox register, two short syllables and done, and the house's translators read it as a desert name in the oldest sense, a word pared down the way the wind pares everything on the world that carries it.

Discovery. Subsurface scans of the dune sea returned one regular shape in all that drifting sand. The teams dug down through metres of overburden and reached a marker of polished black stone, standing upright where it was planted, its face cut with the edict. The desert had taken it under not long after it was raised and sealed it from wind and air ever since. The carving came up without a grain of wear. As the crews worked, the sand kept sliding back into the excavation behind them, already starting to take the stone again.
